Q: What happens if you fail the written test on the 2nd day?
A: You must come back the next day to complete day 3 (Open courses only) or attend a 3rd day at Old Street within 6 weeks. If you cannot, you will need to retake the full course.
Q: What if you have not completed the e-learning but still pass the test?
A: You must complete the online learning within 7 days before a FAW certificate can be issued. You will receive the EFAW for completing day 1 if you do not return.
Q: What if you have not completed the e-learning and also fail the test?
A: You must return for day 3 (next day or within 6 weeks) and complete the online learning before certification. You will receive the EFAW for completing day 1 if you do not return.
Q: What if you fail a private course?
A: The client must pay £299+VAT for the same trainer to deliver an additional 3rd day within 6 weeks.
Q: How are learners assessed?
A: At the end of the 2nd day, trainers administer a written test of 20 or 40 questions. The pass mark is 80% (16/20 or 32/40).
Q: How long does the test take?
A: A maximum of 30 minutes.
Q: Why is the process strict for first aid?
A: This is a pass/fail qualification. Incompetence or lack of knowledge/confidence can result in injury or death.

The Blended First Aid at Work course is our most comprehensive and advanced training program. It equips participants with the essential skills required to serve as a qualified First Aider in the workplace. This course combines the theoretical content of the traditional three-day First Aid at Work course with a flexible blended learning approach. Learners complete the theoretical component online and attend a six-hour practical session with one of our experienced trainers.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate valid for three years, ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

For most of our corporate clients, the Emergency First Aid at Work course is sufficient to meet legal requirements. However, we strongly recommend that at least one person within your organisation completes the First Aid at Work training.
This ensures there is a dedicated individual who is highly confident and proficient in handling First Aid incidents. Additionally, it is important to have a minimum of two trained First Aiders within the organisation to ensure coverage during absences due to illness or holidays.

The primary difference between the two courses lies in their duration and level of detail.
The 1-Day Emergency First Aid at Work course is our most basic accredited course, ideal for individuals working in low-risk environments such as corporate offices, retail, education, and low-risk sports.
In contrast, the 3-Day First Aid at Work course is our most comprehensive program, designed for those in high-risk industries like construction, manufacturing, sports, and warehousing. This course provides in-depth training to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to handle more complex First Aid scenarios.
At Siren Training, our courses are led by trainers who are current or former emergency service professionals, each bringing years of life-saving experience and expertise to share with you.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive an HSE-recognised certificate, valid for three years. In line with current guidelines, we strongly recommend refreshing your First Aid at Work skills annually by attending a half-day refresher course to maintain confidence and proficiency.
