How many Fire Marshal’s do I need ?

There should be a set number of Fire Marshal’s at your workplace and there are a number of factors that would impact this:

  • The number of staff you have at your workplace
  • The risks present at your workplace
  • The layout of your premise
  • The number of visitors to your premise

Fire safety training is also necessary when new employees are moved into a building or changes have been made to the emergency plan. Furthermore, fire safety training is also advised when working practices and processes or people’s responsibilities have changed or any risks in a building have changed. As a result, fire marshal training is needed if a person with mobility issues has been employed  or a new member of staff has undertaken the role of a duty manager or fire marshal.

Legalities

The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order of 2005 requires employers to ensure that employees are provided with adequate emergency evacuation procedures and suitable fire safety knowledge including Fire awareness and Fire Marshal training. To conclude, fire safety training within any working environment is a legal requirement under this order.

Assessment & Certification

The trainers employed by Siren are presently working or ex emergency service professionals. Each trainer has many years of life saving experiences and techniques to share with you.

Following the successful completion of the 20 question multiple choice exam and each student is awarded with a HSE recognised certificate which is valid for 3 years. Under current guidelines it is strongly recommended that you renew your Emergency First Aid certificate once every 12 months through a half day refresher

review rating 5  I had my 1 Day EFAW training at Old Street with Ash. He was absolutely amazing. I can often struggle with maintaining concentration for long periods of time, but he was so engaging, active and energetic that I was absorbed for the full session. He made us all feel so comfortable and at ease, and made everything easy to understand and remember. I walked out feeling confidently equipped and am really grateful for having learnt so much. Would highly recommend anyone to take this course, no matter your job.
