Youth Mental Health First Aid is the most comprehensive training. Mental health first aid is designed to support young people who experience ill mental health. The person who is trained as a Youth Mental Health First Aider is able to help someone who is experiencing mental health issues as well as try to prevent, or help during a mental health crisis.
The new Youth Mental Health First Aid Online Course is based on the same Youth MHFA Two Day course content. It offers the same learning outcomes and every person who completes the course will be certified as a Youth Mental Health First Aider. Online Mental Health First Aid is made up of both individual learning activities alongside 4 live sessions hosted on the new MHFA England Online Learning Hub.
A Youth Mental Health First Aider role is very similar to a physical first aider. For instance, if a first aider saw someone with a broken a leg, they would give first aid until the paramedics stepped in, but not continue further treatment. Mental Health First Aid is designed to follow the exact same process – you support the individual, and assist with the situation until professional care can be administered.
Youth online mental health first aid training gives you structure and strategies to utilise if you encounter someone who experiences depression, distress, psychosis, and other psychological conditions. You will be able to react in a supportive way, ask the right questions, with a view to de-escalating the situation. It is a very handy ‘toolkit’ to have.

It’s relatively easy to see the gaps we’ve been missing as a society, all generally aware of physical health. As such, it is good common sense to go to the doctor if you feel ill.
The most common answer is unfortunately not many places. Mental distress and mental ill-health are still steeped in stigma and discrimination, preventing people from getting the help they need. Achieving parity of esteem of physical and mental health is a fundamental step to creating a healthy, well-equipped society of workers and citizens. The current gaps here are clear, as we all have mental health as well as physical health. Why isn’t mental health equally as important as physical health? This is the question our society must respond to and a gap that MHFA training courses can address.

The Teacher Jonas is a fantastic and a truly inspirational instructor and trainer.
I have attended many First Aid courses but this was by far... read more one of the best, not at any point did anyone look bored. Jonas kept it fun and very interactive, with lots of equipment to play and use to help us build up our skills and self-confidence. He is a very good presenter, also very approachable, energetic, receptive, enthusiastic, supportive and a good motivator. His confidence and passion for what he was teaching came across absolutely superb, he made me feel at ease, his delivery is clear and to the point. He drew on some great examples and was great at keeping the energy levels up by ensuring we were all engaged. He helped to develop the confidence of all individuals by using hands on activities to bring out the best in me and to all the class, I thought the whole process from start to finish was superb. Finally Jonas genuinely inspired me and made me feel really supported and encouraged. A very much enjoyable course. I definitely will be using Siren Training Again in Future for any other courses and training I may need or require....
